On Wednesday, Plaxico Burress was moved to the Oneida correctional facility in Rome, New York. There he will spent the next two years in the long-term protective custody unit, being separated from most of the other inmates
Maybe the state made such a plan to avoid a repeat of when Burress got checked into Rikers Island at the start of his prison stay. The inmates there gave Burress a rude welcome, informing him in not-so-gentle terms of their feelings for him and the New York Giants.
Being separated from other inmates might make Burress’ life in prison less rough. But it would be enough to make him think twice about carrying a gun into a nightclub next time or at least be able to find it in his pants if he does.
